Greetings from Gorey

Hey everyone!

Apologies for being unable to post for a few days, as we were still figuring out the internet situation here.  The first few days have been great.  We arrived in the late afternoon on Sunday, where we met up with Steve Foster and settled into our house and apartment, nicknamed the Boat House and The Pad, respectively.  Our kids have been hard at work preparing the Methodist Church space for the drop in center the past two days, and Monday night we had a surprise birthday party there for one of the Irish teens that is involved with the Empire, Arjie, which was a lot of fun.  Today we finished setting up and had our first successful drop in session.  There were a lot of new kids this year, as well as some old faces.  We played some soccer, some american football, spike ball, played some xbox, and of course the old favorite of bracelet making!  Tonight, we will keep the Empire open a bit later to watch the World Cup game with the teens.  Tomorrow, we are teaming up with Gorey Youth Network and having a "Sports day," where the Irish will teach us Americans "hurling" and we will teach them softball.  Overall things have been going smoothly and we are excited to see what is in store for the Emp this year!

Prayer requests:
-the health of our team members
-new relationships and friendships forming with the Irish
-Steve Foster and possible a new student leadership team rising up

Thanks! Talk to you all soon!
